Have you ever received an airbrush tan and wondered why it didn’t last long? Bronzed is here to tell you how to get the most longevity out of your spray tans so you can stay the bronzed goddess you were born to be!
PREP
Shower and shave ONE day before your tanning session.
Glycerin soap is the ideal soap to use before your tan. It leaves the least amount of residue on your skin. AVOID oil-based soap and lotions before (and after) your tan. *Make sure the first ingredient in your products is WATER.
Exfoliating is very important. It helps relieve dead skin so you can tan fresh skin for maximum longevity. *DID YOU KNOW? Skin regenerates itself every 2-4 weeks and flakes off 600,000 skin cells DAILY. Ew, but whoa! Hence why exfoliating and staying moisturized are so important.
Schedule manicure/pedicure, sugaring/waxing, lash tint/extension, and facial appointments 24-48 hours BEFORE your appointment.
For best results, go to your tanning appointment with clean skin and no makeup.
Wear dark, loose clothing after your spray tan and while your tan is developing.
POST CARE
Avoid water and sweat while wearing your tanning solution.
Refrain from using soap, shampoo, and conditioner during your initial rinse.
All products used on your tan should have water as the first ingredient. Avoid oils, alcohol, and Dove products; they are known to strip spray tans.
Moisturize and use our Bronzed Eco Tan Extender lotion or South Seas Tan Extender **In CO, moisturizing twice daily is ideal.
Hydrate! Hydrate! Hydrate!
Due to washing our faces more frequently, use Bronzed Glowing Face Mist and South Seas Bronzing Mist to keep up with the tan on your face. (Faces tend to fade the quickest.)
Avoid activities that can speed up the natural skin regeneration process—Pat dry VS rubbing.
Remember that long showers/baths, hot tubs, heavy sweating, and swimming in salt water and chlorine all tend to dry out your skin.
Moral of the story: PREP + POST CARE will be your bread and butter for getting the most life out of your tan.
As always, protect your skin with sunscreen! And be sure to check out our FAQ page for additional details and tips.
